Suzann Horne

Suzann Wirthman Horne Suzann (Wirthman) Horne, age 71, passed from this life May 20, 2018. She was born in Delaware Ohio in 1947 where she was adopted by her parents Chadwick and Lela Wirthman. She was a 1965 graduate of Delaware Hayes High School and graduated from the Ohio State University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science degree: Comprehensive English Major / French Minor. Suzann was a Human Resources professional for most of her career. She was Manager of Employee Benefits and then Benefits Director for Borden Inc where she worked for over 25 years. Her duties and responsibilities were focused on providing clear and compassionate communication documents, updating existing programs and new policy development for the company’s health, welfare, and retirement benefit programs. She was also employed by Coopers & Lybrand, Columbus and EXEL, inc Westerville where she utilized her expertise to provide similar services. After retiring in 2007, she loved to spend time enjoying the wooded ravine, open spaces, deer and birds at her home in Clintonville/Columbus. She loved her feline companions and supported various animal shelters with her time and money. She became a very dedicated volunteer for the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop where she spent many hours working in sales and evaluating donations of Jewelry and furs. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Brian, her brother-in-law Jeffrey Horne & family and Sister-in-law Susan Hall & family, as well as many lifetime friends and fellow volunteers with whom she has shared much laughter, love and happiness. Their support over the course of her life and through her illness was valued beyond expression. Her wit, charm, beauty, style and grace will be missed. Friends may gather on June 2nd between 3-5 PM at Rutherford-Corbin, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. A celebration of Suzann’s life will be held at a later date.
