Scott Andrew Morris

Scott Andrew Morris, age 58, of Lewis Center, OH, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, OH, after a rapidly progressing unknown disease that severely affected his lungs. Memorial services will be held March 17, 2023 at LifePoint Church - Lewis Center, 7404 Graphics Way, Lewis Center, OH, 43035. Visitation hours will be from 2:00-4:00 PM. The funeral service will start shortly after at 4:15 PM. Reception to follow. Scott was born August 8, 1964, to John Morris and Joan (Heck) Morris in Hamilton, OH. He grew up in the small town of Brookville, Indiana along with his two siblings, Dean & Amy. He graduated from Brookville High School and proudly received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts, from Purdue University. He remained a proud alumni and huge basketball fan. Scott started his career in advertising as an art director in Richmond, VA, then Cincinnati, OH. He married Lori Worm on September 23,1995 in Chaska, Minnesota, and they started their marriage in Coppell, Texas, where they had their first two children, Sarah and Jessica. Shortly after Jessica was born, they moved to Columbus, Ohio for Scott’s work at GSW. He continued his advertising career there as a group creative director and strategist for 19 years. In Ohio they had their third child, Nathan. Scott was known for his quick wit and humor. We could always count on him to entertain a crowd. Scott enjoyed spending his free time with his kids: playing ping-pong, skateboarding, going on hikes, watching his kids sporting events, watching movies and planning extravagant trips for them all. He thoroughly enjoyed the five years at the cabin the family built in Hocking Hills where he loved to spend his weekends mowing, relaxing and taking in nature. Scott loved driving his Porsche on a nice day, listening to his favorite music and watching his Purdue basketball team (even though it would stress him out a little). He loved to make his family laugh and made our kids’ friends feel like part of the family. He LOVED his French Bulldog, Stitch, he often said they were best friends. He valued his lifelong friendships. He was also a very talented artist and drawer, and encouraged creativity throughout his kids' lives. Scott was a very hard worker and prided himself in providing for his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Lori; children, Sarah Morris, Jessica Morris, Nathan Morris; father, John Morris; mother, Joan (Heck) Morris; brother and sister, Dean (Karen) Morris, Amy (Matt) Spiller; mother-in-law, Linda Worm; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kelly (Tim) Wiebe, Michael (Erica Roehl) Worm, Greg (Dana Mucha) Worm; nieces and nephews, Derek (Ashley) Morris, Matthew (Mandi) Spiller, Kelly Spiller, Brad Spiller, Max Worm-Mucha, Ben Worm-Mucha; other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by grandparents, Carl L. Heck, Constance Heck, Frank Morris, Juanita Morris; father-in-law, Jim Worm.
