Richard Charles Fein

Richard Charles Fein, age 76, of Dublin, peacefully went to the Lord on Friday, August 17, 2012 at home after a difficult struggle with lung cancer. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Otto and Elizabeth Fein, he was a graduate of The Ohio State University receiving his Bachelor of Science, Education degree and later received his Masters, Education degree from Xavier University. Rich was a long-time employee of the Columbus Public Schools where he was a teacher, administrator and a tutor. He was a life-time member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church with memberships at Atonement Lutheran Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church-Dublin and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church-Powell. In addition to his parents, Rich is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Richard Spansky and sisters-in-law Joan Sullivan and Dora McCue. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Patricia Fein of Dublin; sons and daughters-in-law: Erich Christian and Peggy Fein of Adelaide, Australia and Patrick Otto and Ann Fein of Powell; grandchildren: Erin (Adam) Caldwell of Cincinnati, Luke, Nicholas, Jared, Kathleen “Katie”, Josiah, Gabriel, Daniel, Joey and Sophia Fein; sister Delores Spansky of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; brothers: Robert (Lillian) Fein of Holliday, FL and Ronald (Lee) Fein of Avon, OH; brother-in-law Alfred (Susan) McCue of Farmington, CT; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rich was a fantastic storyteller. He was an avid sports fan who was a “student of the game” and who witnessed the very first Cleveland Rams (Browns) professional football game in Cleveland. With his unforgettable, piercing blue eyes, Rich could light up a room. Those blue eyes are carried on with his numerous grandchildren. Rich was a dedicated father and grandfather and was a devoted and loving husband. He will be sorely missed. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm.
