Patricia Lynn Baumgartner

BAUMGARTNER Patricia Lynn Baumgartner, in her 66th year, died on the afternoon of Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Hope Hospice, Fort Myers, Florida, after a long and courageous struggle with cancer. Pat was born on December 31, 1951 to her loving parents Jack (John) Rose (deceased) and Katherine (Kay) Rose (Butcher) in Agincourt, Ontario, Canada. Pat attended both elementary and secondary schools in Agincourt where she developed some of her many interests and talents: horse back riding, music, doll collecting, history and politics, antiques, decorating, and sewing. She was an avid reader, much like her father Jack. Upon completing her Canadian education, Pat moved to the United States where she continued to pursue her interests and landed at Columbus State College to attend nursing school. It was during those study years that she met and married her much loved husband, Larry Baumgartner. Pat and Larry bought and, together, restored a 100 year old farm house beyond its former glory where Pat's love of decorating and her knowledge of antiques were very evident. After many successful years of nursing in Columbus, where she excelled, Pat retired to work on her love of antique doll collecting, largely restoring the dolls to their original dress and state. With her creative side, she developed a business under the name Handmade With Love, which highlighted her ability to design, produce, and sell craft kits for making beautiful seasonal displays such as Easter rabbits, Halloween characters, snowmen, and the like. Pat's antique doll collecting led her to membership in the United Federation of Doll Clubs Galatia Chapter where she had many friends of like interest and enthusiasm. Pat was an excellent cook and hostess and held many wonderful and memorable social events for family and friends at their beautiful home in Delaware, Ohio. Her wit, creativity, and heart will be missed. Pat is survived by her husband, Larry Baumgartner; her mother, Kay Rose; cousin, Thomas Rose (Meredith); and mother-in-law, Anne Baumgartner. She is also survived by Larry's sisters, Linda Theis, Gail Baumgartner, Laurie Preston, Karen Hammond (Brian), Connie Rasmussen (Thomas), and Kristine Ranker (Darin); and by her many much loved nieces and nephews. A visitation and service will be held at Rutherford Funeral Home, 450 West Powell Road, Powell, Ohio on Thursday, May 18 from 10 a.m.-12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Delaware County at 4920 OH-37, Delaware, Ohio 43015.
