N. Dianne Deal

N. Dianne Deal, age 64, of Powell, Ohio and formerly of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away Friday January 9, 2009 at Kobacker House in Columbus. Born to the late Harold and Irene Reid, Dianne was a graduate of Columbus Eastmoor High School, Class of 1962, a graduate of Bethesda School of Nursing in Zanesville, Ohio and Ohio University. In a nursing career spanning over 40 years, she was a Nursing Supervisor and Director of Nursing and Public Health Coordinator in Ohio and South Carolina. She retired from the James Cancer Hospital in 2007. Dianne was married in 1971 to the late James E. Deal. She is survived by her daughter Stephanie L.(Eric Starrett) Deal, of Dublin, Ohio; step-children: Chris Deal and Judith (Ron) Dovenbarger, both of Zanesville; and her grandson Bryce Dovenbarger, of Zanesville; She also leaves a sister, Janice (Joseph) Lanski, of Worthington, Ohio; brothers: William (Pam Snyder) Reid, of Weaver, Alabama and Barry (Barbara) Reid, of Pickerington, Ohio; nieces and nephews: Jason Reid, of Pickerington; Andrea (Cory) Gates, of Canal Winchester, Ohio; Scott Lanski, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Kelli Lanski, of South Bend, Indiana; and the extended Deal Family. Dianne was a member of Powell United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Lily Circle. She was also a member of numerous gardening and professional organizations. Family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00pm. Sunday at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME at POWELL, 450 West Olentangy St., Powell, Ohio 43065 (614)-792-1471 where funeral service will be held 11:00am. Monday January 12, 2009 with Reverend Marcus Atha, officiating. (The funeral home is located on W. Olentangy St./Powell Rd./SR 750 ¼ mile east of Sawmill Parkway.) Private family burial will be held at Zanesville Memorial Park.
