Marilynn Dodson

Marilynn Dodson passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, service, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her gentle spirit and generous heart. Marilynn is survived by her devoted husband of more than 40 years, Don Dodson; her beloved sons, Sean Ritter of San Antonio, Texas, and Kevin Ritter of Austin, Texas; her sister, Joyce Aubuchon of Powell, Ohio; and five cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Cameron, and by her parents, Kenneth and Margretta Cameron of Upper Arlington, Ohio. A graduate of Grandview Heights High School in Grandview, Ohio, Marilynn began her career as the private secretary to Ferd Wolf at Grandview Hardware. She later enjoyed a long and successful career with a credit union, from which she eventually retired. Marilynn was a dedicated member of the Brookside community, where she served as Treasurer of the Brookside Civic Association for more than twenty years. She also enjoyed her involvement with the Worthington Women's Club, participating in many activities such as knitting and birdwatching. Her faith was an important part of her life. Marilynn was a faithful member of Worthington Christian Church for over twenty years, where she quietly enjoyed preparing communion for worship services. Her love of God was reflected in her daily life through acts of kindness, compassion, and service to others. Marilynn shared a love of travel with her husband, Don, and together they explored destinations across the United States and abroad. She especially loved the American West, horses, and visits to the nation's beautiful national parks. At home, she found joy in gardening, flowers, birds, card games, and celebrating holidays with family and friends. Her home was always filled with warmth, seasonal decorations, and a welcoming spirit. Those who knew Marilynn will remember her love of life, her quiet strength, and the genuine care she showed to everyone around her. She treasured her family, valued her friendships, and lived her faith with grace and humility. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love of God, and devotion to family and friends will remain an enduring inspiration to all whose lives she touched. Though she will be greatly missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and were blessed to know her.
