Frances A. Davis

Frances (Fran) A. Davis, nee Zuber, age 90, Monday, January 2, 2017, at Wesley Glen. Graduate of St. Joseph Academy High School; Mt. Carmel School of Nursing (member of army cadet core); St. Marys of the Springs College; post graduate studies at Marquette University and The Ohio State University; associate member, Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority. In her early years Fran taught at Mt. Carmel School of Nursing and was a consultant with the Ohio Division of Mental Hygiene. She worked as a school nurse in the Columbus Public school system and retired from St. Paul School in Westerville. After retiring she took up painting, swimming, travelling around the world and was a founder and leader of the investment group, Cents and Sensibilities. Fran was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (OLP) and for many years chaired the annual St. Vincent DePaul Society clothing drive for families in Vinton County, Ohio. Fran was a passionate gardener, fierce euchre player and lifelong OSU football and basketball fan, member of the Clintonville Women's Club and OLP Leisure Club. Most of all, she was delighted by her grandchildren. Waiting for her in heaven are her husband, Edward J. Davis, Sr. (Ed); parents, John and Stella Zuber; sister, Ann Cotter; baby brother, Eugene; & dear friend Tom Evans. Survived by children, E. J. (Nancy Rausch) Davis, Jr., Karen (David) Matthias, Tim Davis, Greg Davis, Bryan (Carol) Davis, Linda (Mark) Sell , Mary (Jim Closson) Davis of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Cpt. Joshua (Molly) Rausch-Davis, Tyler Rausch-Davis, Brendan & Jenna Matthias, Paedric (Allison) Davis, Bryan (Kim) Davis & Lewis Davis, Rawley, Jack & Anna Davis, Davis & Sally Sell, Jennifer (Mac) Funk, Logan & Ry Closson; great granddaughter, Kaelee Davis; sisters, Joan E.
