Corrine Snyder Cope

Corrine Snyder Cope, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital of natural causes. Born in Lewisburg, Ohio to Roscoe P. and Agnes Snyder, Corrine was married to Elmer F. Cope in 1940. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a Ph.D. in Psychology. After graduation she was hired by the University of Missouri as an Associate Professor in the department of Clinical Psychology. She retired in Counseling Psychology in 1987 as a Professor Emeritus. She was a member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church, American Psychological Association, The Society of Counseling Psychology, Lewisburg Historical Society and the Ohio Historical Society. She enjoyed family, travel, history, crossword puzzles and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer; father Roscoe; mother Agnes; brother Victor; sister Thelma; and sister-in-law Bertha. She is survived by her son Jon M. “Jack” (Mona) Cope; daughter Suzanne (William) Acton; grandchildren: Jonathan (Stephanie) Cope; Jennifer (Nathan) Pulliam; Jeromy (Patty) Acton; Amanda (Anthony) Shaw; great-grandchildren: Maxwell and Dylan Cope; Caleb Menges, Maddox and Berkley Pulliam; Ava and Austin Acton; Anna and new baby Adam Shaw; Christine and Michael Hannigan; and extended family; Larry Snyder; Carolyn and William Gaik; Rod and Judit Snyder; Aaron and Heather Snyder and beloved friend and care-giver Debbie Cumberland. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at BETHEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1220 Bethel Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220 with Reverend Michael Pratt, officiating..
