October 11, 1927 - March 20, 2021
Wilma Rose Gossman, age 93, passed away peacefully at home on March 20,2021. Born to the late Charles and Mary (Bucek) Sharkus, Wilma was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She spent countless hours teaching her children life skills, from baking and sewing to driving a manual shift car. In later years she could often be found at the ball field or gym, watching the kids play, and she was so happy whenever she could be there. She was the best mom and grandma a kid could ask for. Wilma had an incredibly strong faith in Jesus Christ, and was devoted to His mother. She was very rarely without a rosary in her hand. Together with her husband, she instilled that faith in her children. Though she will be dearly missed, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is resting in the arms of our Savior. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 58 years, Eugene Gossman; brother, Charles Sharkus; sisters Mary Niswonger and Anna Beardsley; sons-in-law David Hohl and John Best, and her great-grandson Jaxton Hohl. Left with aching hearts are her children Linda Hohl, Barbara Gossman, Susan Best, Greg (Jane) Gossman and Karen (Greg) Rietema; 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and seemingly countless nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday March 26, 2021 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street in Worthington, Ohio where a funeral service will be held on Saturday March 27, 2021 at 9:00am. Sadly, due to pandemic restrictions, the funeral service will be in person for the immediate family only; however it will be live-streamed on the Holy Resurrection Facebook page. When we are able, we will have an open memorial service and celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Resurrection Melkite Catholic Church, 8181 Widflower Lane, Westerville, Ohio 43081 or to Vitas Healthcare Hospice, 655 Metro Place South, Suite 770, Dublin Ohio 43017. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Crooksville, Ohio.
