Thomas H. Lindsey Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Thomas H. Lindsey, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Patricia Knutson Lindsey; children Susan (Scott) Lively, Karen (Frank) Myhr, Scott (Heather), and Brenda (Mike) Asam; grandchildren Thomas, Elizabeth, and John Lively, Evan and Grant Lindsey, Henry and Graham Asam; siblings Dianne Lindsey and Daniel L. (Debby) Lindsey; many extended family members and lifelong friends. Preceded in death by parents C. Harold Lindsey and Hildagarde Wanner Lindsey. A seventh-generation Ohioan, Tom was born in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated first in his class from North High School in 1958. He earned a B.S. in Engineering Sciences from Purdue University in 1962 before obtaining his J.D. from the Ohio State University College of Law in 1965. His calm demeanor and measured legal advice were valued by the many clients he served for over 56 years, the last 25 in partnership with his son. After courting his future bride at Purdue, he brought her to Columbus where they raised their family. Tom will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, prodigious memory, and the breadth and depth of his knowledge in many subjects, including Ohio flora and fauna. Always the Eagle Scout, he shared his passion for the outdoors with his family throughout his life. He loved music, playing games, travel, and fine dining, and left his family a lifetime of cherished memories through his gift for photography. He was proud of his family, especially of the many achievements of his children and their spouses. Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022, and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 16, 2022, at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME, 450 W. Olentangy St., Powell. Private interment at Fehl Cemetery, Marseilles, Ohio, will follow. Donations in his memory may be made to King Avenue United Methodist Church, 299 King Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43201.
