Ruth C. (Merckling) Berger, 82, of Powell passed away March 19, 2021 in Powell. Ruth was born on April 9, 1938 to Jim and Bertha (Hartigan) Merckling. She was the founder of Histo Techniques, LTD, and was a charter member of National Histology Society. Ruth is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jim Berger; sister, Rita (Woody) Hutchison; brother, Jim (Gloria) Merckling; granddaughter, Brittany (Alan) Gerhart; great-granddaughter, Madison Gerhart. Ruth is preceded in death by her Parents and daughter, Molly Staley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 893 Hamlet Street Columbus, Ohio 43201. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Health Hospice, Cozy Cat Cottage, or a charity of one’s choice.
