Robert (Bob) A. Schott Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert A. Schott went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2022 and is now reunited with Barb his wife of 47 years. Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1968 through 1970. He was then accepted into the 55th Cadet Class for the Columbus Police Department. Bob served on the Columbus Police Department from 1971 until 2003. He was a life long resident of Columbus Ohio and graduated in 1968 from Brookhaven High School. Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara (Barb); his brother Martin Schott; parents Bob and Nan Schott. Bob is survived by his sister Alicia (Randy) Barnette; dear friend Stanley Watling; mother-in-law Virginia Jones; sister-in-law Liz Long; niece Amy (Shane) Meade; nephews Aaron (Gloria) Schott; Keith (Noelle) Border and Andrew Border as well as additional great nieces and great nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Bob was an awesome older brother always watching over his baby sister. He was an dedicated loving husband that cared for Barb for many years. Bob was a devoted Columbus Police officer serving in both the Narcotics and Homicide Divisions. Later in life he enjoyed woodworking and found the 2nd love of his life Bass Fishing. Bob was well known in local tournaments. He will be dearly missed and will always be loved. Family will welcome friends from 4 PM to 6 PM with a Memorial and Military Service at 6 PM at Rutherford Funeral Home in Powell; 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, Ohio 43065.
