Pearl Geneva Beatty

Pearl Geneva Beatty, age 94, of Columbus, Ohio passed away at home on November 3, 2021. She was born in July 4, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Elisha Edward Dean and Agnes Grubert Dean. She was very proud to be born on the Fourth of July. She was married to Glenn Hurst “Jack” Beatty for more than 60 years. Her friends called her Cubby. Mom was active in her children’s education and extra-curricular activities. She served a term as President of a PTA. She loved bowling and was on league champion teams for many years. Her high game was 237. She loved the Ohio State Buckeyes football team dating back to the late 1940s and attended the famous Snow Bowl game in the Shoe in 1950. During her career, she worked as a telephone switchboard operator, a carhop on roller skates at a Beverly Drive-in (during its hey-day) and a hospital patient representative. She also worked for her son’s leather manufacturing business (where she was once featured on local TV news). Mom was born the tenth of eleven children. She outlived all of her brothers and sisters and their spouses. She is survived and sadly missed by her daughter Connie Beatty (Jerry), her son Roger Beatty (Olga), her son Lee Beatty, three grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
