Mary L. Lockwood
August 6, 1924 - April 3, 2022
Mary Louise Nance was born to Clemma Allen and Grace Mae Nance on August 6th, 1924 in Madison Mills, Ohio. She was one of their 13 other children. Mom lasted longer than any of her many brothers and sisters. She was the last one to go on April 3rd, 2022 at age 97 1/2 years. She often wondered out loud why she was the last of them to go. She was just that strong. She married the love of her life, Melvin "Skipper" Lockwood, on October 10th, 1944 and welcomed two children, Gary and Lana. Gary on July 6th, 1946 and Lana on July 21st, 1948. We're both pretty old by now. That's what happens. Mom and Dad enjoyed 57 years married until his death in 2002 from Congestive Heart Failure. The years were long after his passing and again, she wondered why she was still alive so many years after. She just couldn't understand it. I just kept telling her it wasn't her time yet. But time caught up with her on April 3rd at 3:45 pm. It was her time, finally. Mom will always be remembered as a very happy, content lady who loved all of her family unconditionally. She always had a smile and kind words for everyone she encountered in life. She will be missed terribly by her daughter for the remainder of her days here on earth. Friends may call on Friday April 8, 2022 at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High Street in Worthington from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, with a Funeral Service to be held at 6:00pm with Pastor Phil Conrad officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday April 9, 2022 at Madison Mills Cemetery. I love you Mom, forever and always.
