Kevin Shanahan

Kevin R. Shanahan, age 56, born February 6, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio, peacefully passed away at the Kobacker House on August 13, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter F. Shanahan and mother-in-law, Sondra Richison. Kevin is survived by his mother, Joan Shanahan; his loving wife of 37 years, Sherri; and children, Rose Berk, Kevin Michael, Patrick and Mark; grandchildren, Morgan & Shane Berk, Keath, Dylan, Lily, Ryleigh, Kevin-James and Matthew Shanahan; siblings, Kathleen (Peter) Burke, Timothy, Bridgid Palmer, John and Peggy (Jim Tarantine), and adopted sister, Marty Howe; sister-in-law, Vicki Roy; many nieces and nephews, and special cousin and partner in crime, Dan Shanahan. He was a longtime resident of Clintonville, a graduate of Immaculate Conception Grade School and Bishop Watterson High School Class of 1977. He acquired his Master Plumber's License and HVAC Certification. He worked as a Mechanical Building Engineer for Jones, Lang & LaSalle, working in the Rhodes State Office Tower and the Riffe Center. He loved bowling, fishing, chess and OSU football. Besides his wife, Sherri, his passion was spending time with his grandchildren (especially the boys in the He-Man Women Haters Club). He also enjoyed spending time with his pets, Duke, Sadie, Mallory and Mitzie. Everyone loved Kevin because of his wit, good stories (boy could he talk), large heart and "live and let live" attitude. Special thanks to the "porch hangers" Laurie Cherri and Earlene & Ronnie Neff for all the laughs and good times! "Thank you to Jimmy Shanahan for singing "The Parting Glass!"
