Judith Schafer

Judith Schafer, 82, formerly of Columbus and Powell, OH passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 in Venice, FL. She was born to William and Aurelia Sargent in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated in 1955 from North High School in Columbus and then attended The Ohio State University. She married her best friend and lifelong companion, James Schafer in 1959 in Indiana. She worked as a data entry operator, first for the State of Ohio, and then Nationwide Insurance and finally Huntington National Bank, where she retired in 1994. She and her husband retired at the same time and enjoyed the next 20 years traveling the U.S. and the world with friends via bus, rail, air or cruise ship. She especially enjoyed dining out with friends and family. She moved with her husband to Venice Florida in 2015 to be closer to their daughter. Preceded in death just 6 weeks ago by her husband of 61 years, James. Survived by her daughter Debra (Phil), grandchildren James, Jeremy (Erica), Sarah (Ryan) and great-grandchildren Tristen, Mason, Tyler, Harrison and Mary-Jane. Survived by nieces and nephews: Mike (Patty), Linda (Joe), Cathi (Jon), Lori (Greg), Steve (Tina), Kim (Eric), Kathy and many great nieces and nephews who she loved so much.
