Joann is survived by her two children, Julianne (John) DiNunzio, and George Jr. (Patricia) Paesano; her five grandsons, Nicholas and Anthony DiNunzio, and Emilio, George III, and Domenic Paesano. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Burnett; and sisters-in-law, Teresa Julian and Pauline Hartman of Texas. Joann will also be missed by many nieces and nephews along with great and great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, George, her parents Pietro and Giovanna (D'Angelo) Giuliani, her brothers Peter, Vince and Dominic, sisters-in-law Cecilia, Linda, Janet, Stella and Marie and brothers-in-law Eddie, Ted, Ganto and Rico; nephew Gary Paesano and great-nephew Mark Petty. Joann was born Giovanna Bambina Giuliani in the small mountain village of Introdacqua, (Abruzzo) Italy. At the young age of 18 months, she immigrated with her parents to the U.S. and settled in Columbus, Ohio. Joann graduated from Central Ohio School in 1942. She worked for over 20 years at the Columbus Defense Supply Center. Joann was an active member for decades in the PIME Missionary Guilds. She enjoyed two wonderful trips back to Italy to visit her aunts, uncles and cousins. Joann was a person of strong faith and was a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was famous for her pizzelles and made them every year, even in her 95th year, for her family and friends. If you bought pizzelles at the Columbus Italian Festival, they were probably made in Joann's kitchen. She loved cooking for and helping others in any way she could. Joann was a devout Catholic with a strong faith. She was blessed with a long life, and wanted nothing other than be surrounded by family and friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Father Black at Saint Joan of Arc Church along with the members of St. Joan Homebound Eucharistic Ministry who provided Joann with the Holy Eucharist and countless loving visits which she treasured.
