Jane B. Frontone

Jane Frontone passed away peacefully April 27, 2022. Born in Hammondsville, Ohio, March 16, 1928, to Roemaine and Stanley Baker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ralph, her parents and sister Elizabeth Ann Roberts. Jane graduated from Irondale High School, attended Asbury College (KY) and graduated from Capital University. Jane was an innovative music educator in public schools and churches for over 55 years. She was co-founder of the Central Ohio Chapter of Orff-Schulwerk Association, and active in the Ohio Music Education Association, Music Educators National Conference and the state and national Orff-Schulwerk Association. Jane was recognized by peers, school districts and university leaders as an educator and a mentor, including being honored with the New Jersey Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. She was a member of Hammondsville (OH) United Methodist Church and associate member of Indian Run United Methodist Church (Dublin, OH). Jane is survived by daughter, Ann Daugherty; son-in-law, David Daugherty; much-loved grandsons, Ryan (Amelia) Daugherty, Jarred (Taylor) Daugherty, and Conner Daugherty; great-granddaughters, Eleanor and Olivia; sisters, Catherine Hawley and Roz (Ron) Harrigan and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, May 21, 2022 at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 W. Olentangy St., Powell, Ohio with Visitation prior to service from 1:00-3:00pm.
