Darleen Ann Goebel

March 16, 1938 - December 16, 2020

Darleen Ann Goebel, 82 of Worthington passed away on December 16, 2020. Darleen was born on March 26, 1938 to Salvatore and Ann Diana. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Jim and sister Carol. She is survived by her son, Steve (Paula); daughter, Karen (Ken) Smith and son, Paul; grandchildren, Paige (Ricky), Cole, Trevor, Courtney, Erin, Evan and Allie and great granddaughter, Sloane. In 1956, Darleen began her career as an x-ray technician at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio after graduating from Canton McKinley High School. In 1974, Darleen became the first female x-ray and ultrasound technician at Doctor’s Hospital. She then took a position in 1997 at Hobbs Radiation Oncology Center and retired in 2007 after 52 years in the medical field. During that time, she was honored with the Ohio Health Prism Award for compassion and a member of the Wall of Fame. Darleen will be remembered for her compassion and selflessness for others, that she embodied through her lifelong work in the medical field. She will be remembered for the joy that she created with her family whether she was dancing with her husband, Jim, watching football or spending time with children and grandchildren. As a wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend, she truly will be missed. Do to COVID a private service will be held in Louisville, Ohio with a burial at St. Louis Cemetery.
