Dana Kaye Navin (1940 – 2021). On January 24, 2021, a loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away at Kobacker House. Born in Bellaire, Ohio and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Bellaire High School where she was active in drama, band and basketball. When she was 19, Dana moved to Columbus to work as a legal secretary for Cy Wolsky and then for the Larrimer & Larrimer law firm where she met her first husband, Paul J Navin. Married for 34 years, she had four children. Dana was a life-long learner, an avid reader and supporter of the arts in central Ohio. She served as secretary of the Columbus Museum of Art Sessions Society, was a strong supporter of WOSU Public Media and twice president of the ProMusica Sustaining Board. She was also active in her church, the First Congregational Church UCC, Columbus. Survived by loving husband Hugh Schultz; sister Marilyn Freshour; children Brett Navin, Colleen Baumeister (John) and Emily Prieto (Tom), and step-daughter Kristin Kelly (Bret); grandchildren Rachel and Duke Brady, Max, Garrett (Holly) and Pete (Carlie) Monast, and Wyatt Kelly; many loving relatives and friends. Preceded in death by first husband, Paul J. Navin, parents Robert and Dorothy Freshour, sister Janice Parsons, daughter Elizabeth (Bethany) Navin and daughter in law Patricia Navin. A memorial service will be held October 16, 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 444 East Broad St Columbus, Ohio. Dana was a light among the stars and didn’t know a bad day until her battle with pancreatic cancer. Her approach to life was always “What can I do for you?” She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Donations in her name can be made to the WOSU building fund or the ProMusica Sustaining Board
