Gwynne and Idelle Barnett in Indianapolis, Indiana. After graduating from Howe High School in Irvington, Indiana in 1954, Carol entered the workforce as a secretary at a commercial hardware store and eventually began a career at Hertz Rent-a-Car. On Memorial Day weekend in 1964, she met Tom Jenkusky, and they wed on July 2, 1965, together they raised three boys Kenneth, Eric and Mark. Carol dedicated her life to being a fantastic wife and wonderful mother having served as an assistant Cub Scout Den Mother for many years. Carol LOVED shopping, having her hair and nails done and of course she loved her jewelry. Carol enjoyed keeping up on her many extended family members spread across the country and enjoyed traveling to see them. Full moons, fall leaves and beaches were several of the things Carol always enjoyed seeing in person. Carol was a voracious reader and when she wasn’t filling her home with humor, warmth and kindness, she could be found in her room reading her favorite authors. We will miss her greatly. Carol was predeceased by her parents W. Gwynne and Idelle Barnett, her eldest sister Ann (Barnett) Lee, and her younger brothers David Barnett and Doug Barnett. Carol is survived by her husband of 57 years Tom, her sons Kenneth, Eric (Lucia), Mark (Erin), grandchildren, Roger, Kristin, Caitlin, Jeremy, Jacob and Jameson, several great-grandchildren, sisters Gwendolyn (Jerry) Dean and Cynthia (John) Demaree, brother Dick (Jeanne) Barnett, and many nieces and nephews. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Dementia Society of America or their local area Hospice. There will be a Memorial Mass at 9:00 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at St. Mary’s Church, 82 E. Williams St., Delaware, Ohio followed by a Celebration of Life Luncheon at the home of Tom, Eric & Lucia Jenkusky, Lewis Center, Ohio.
