William G. Sneberger

William G. "Bill" Sneberger, age 91, died peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2010. Born in Phillips, Wisconsin to Mary and John Sneberger, he moved to the Chicago area at an early age and grew up there. Bill joined the United States Navy during WWII at the age of 17. He worked for Western Electric in Chicago until being transferred to Columbus in 1959. He retired from Western Electric in 1976 after 36 years of service. Bill was a member of "We Bello" Toastmasters Club of Western Electric where he was nominated as President in 1967 and represented the club at Toastmasters International in Toronto, Canada as Toastmaster of the Year. He was a member of the John Burlie Chapter, Telephone Pioneers of America. Bill was an unassuming man who was kind to all and loved his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Mary and John Sneberger, his brothers Charles, James and Joseph Sneberger, his wife Dorethea Sneberger, and his daughter Judith Pugh. Left behind to grieve for him are his cherished daughter, Darlene Ullsmith, of Chicago, IL; son-in-law, Gary D. Pugh, of Florida; his loving grandchildren, Melanie and Scott Mackey, Russell and Katrina Fasone, Todd Fasone and Robin Teague; his adoring great-grandchildren, Joe Fasone, Lindsay Mackey, Sarah and Brandon Smith, and Misty Cathell; his two great-great-grandchildren, Hayden and Emmalynn Fasone; sister-in-law, Doris Von Hoene, of Denver, CO; and many nieces and nephews. We send him home with our love and memories. May he rest in peace. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Tuesday at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, OH 43085, (614)885-4006, where his funeral will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010.
