Timothy Jay Wiggins

Timothy Jay Wiggins, born August 15, 1959, passed away suddenly Sunday July 23, 2023, as the result of a tragic accident. Tim was a life-long resident of Delaware County, Ohio. A natural storyteller, his friends and loved ones will miss hearing him share memories of his adventures growing up when Delaware county was still a rural area. He loved a good meal, a spoonful of peanut butter and a cold glass of iced tea enjoyed with a piece of pie and a lively conversation. Known to take in all kinds of stray animals, he raised several baby raccoons throughout his lifetime and as a child he was always dragging home squirrels, birds or whatever the animal might be that day to nurse them back to health. He had a special fondness for turtles. He was a naturalist at heart who loved spending time outdoors, riding his tractor, cutting wood, planting fruit trees on his farm in southern Ohio, caring for his animals or just listening to the sound of the birds. A master carpenter, mechanic, and craftsman, Tim could take someone’s idea and with his creative mind and skilled hands, he could turn it into a reality. He could build or fix anything. He loved to tinker with cars and had a special fondness for Ford vehicles, and along with his fleet of pickup trucks in various states of repair, he had a vintage Mustang he hoped someday to restore. He spent his career as a skilled tradesman working many years in construction for Doug Butterman Builders and most recently as an employee of Lacko Poured Walls and a part-time private contractor. He was the guy who showed up with a smile ready to lend a hand, solve a problem or just pitch in and get stuff done. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He is preceded in death by his younger brother, Jon Scott (Scotty) Wiggins; mother, Corrine (Connie) Harkinson-Wiggins; father, Glendon (Jack) Alton Wiggins; and furry friend, Syd Albert Vicious, (Chihuahua). He is survived by former spouse and lifetime best friend, Donna Roach; her mother, Jo Richards who considered Tim a son; girlfriend, Trish Hesson; step-daughters, Malia Roach and Arionna (Pie) Roach; grandkids, Mason and Noah; cousin, Cynthia (Cindy) McElligott-Mackensen; his beloved pal/dog, Midnight (Mighty) and a circle of friends who will miss his jokes and companionship. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 31 with Visiting Hours starting at Noon at Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 West Olentangy Street. Powell, Ohio 43065. Burial will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. .
