Teresa Rose Johnson

Teresa Rose “Terri” Johnson, 92, formerly of Galion, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home in Columbus, Ohio on February 23, 2023. She was born on June 14, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Lawrence and Rose Martin. Terri graduated from Galion HS in 1948. She utilized her adept shorthand and typing skills as a secretary for The North Electric Company in Galion for many years. She later served in the same capacity for the faculty at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, and finally as Executive Secretary and Property Manager with Joseph Skilken & Co. in Columbus, Ohio until her retirement. In addition to her parents, Terri was preceded in death by former spouse, and father of her children, Robert Johnson, and siblings Sam, Pete, and Bessie, who all lived in the Galion area. She is survived by three sons, Lawrence (Susan) of Howell, Michigan, Randy (Jan) of San Antonio, Florida, and Jeffrey (Cherry) of Columbus, Ohio. Terri is also survived by significant other Charles Davis of Columbus, and former daughters-in-law, Jeanie Johnson (Randy), Angela Linnane (Jeffrey), and Lisa Gatto (Jeffrey). Terri was a devout follower of the Roman Catholic faith, stayed close to her Heavenly Father and always kept His teachings at heart. She was an avid reader of all genres, loved music, ballroom dancing, long walks and the outdoors in general. Cheering for her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, having a cup of coffee or glass of wine with friends, and an outing at the beach were favorite pastimes. However, without a doubt, her true passion and greatest love was her family. She cherished her loving family, which includes 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Rarely, if ever, did she miss a birthday or significant event, often traveling many miles to share in the celebrations. Her home was adorned with dozens upon dozens of family photos. When the walls were covered, the remaining photos filled numerous scrapbooks to proudly share with friends. Her unending love of her family prompted her, many years ago, to request that each child, grandchild, and great grandchild be named in her obituary. The family is honored to fulfill her request. Grandchildren: Kirk Edward and Kristie Kay Johnson, Amy Lyn Couturier, Ryan Patrick and Shannon Marie Johnson, Rodney Scott and Deborah Ann Johnson, Sarah Ann and Ron John Wonderling, Julie Lynn Johnson, Jace Matthew and Victoria Anne Johnson, Nathaniel David and Alexandria Rosemary Johnson, David Jeffrey and Janine Nicole Johnson, Chelsie Marie and Justin Duward Robinson, Carissa Nicole and Jeffrey Thomas Childers Great Grandchildren: Jack Ryan Johnson, Mary Susan Johnson, Kolin Michael Johnson, Emily Margaret Couturier, Isabell Marie Johnson, Kendra Rose Johnson, Colton David Johnson, Noah Robert Johnson, Tyler James Couturier, Ava Scarlett Wonderling, Luke Martin Johnson, Wesley Lawrence Johnson, Joey Nathaniel Johnson, Jacob Benjamin Johnson, Bauer Gray Wonderling, Noah Lee Johnson, Joseph Daniel Robinson, David Lee Johnson, Jamie Lynn Robinson, Colt Joseph Johnson, Emmalin Kathryn Childers, Jonathan Thomas Childers, Olivia Rose Johnson, Willow Rosella Childers. A Celebration of Terri’s life will be held at a location and date to be named later. Memorial donations in her name may be made to The Addus Hope Foundation /Capital City Hospice.
