Susan J Clark died on Thursday, May 17, 2024 at Wesley Glen Retirement Community in Columbus, Ohio. Born on February 29, 1936 in Freeport, Ohio, Sue was the daughter of the late Arthur H “Brady” Milleson and Mary G Kinsey Milleson. She was a 1954 graduate of Freeport High School and attended college at The Ohio State University for several years. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, a national women’s fraternity. She met her future husband Gordon M Clark at OSU and will always be a Buckeye. Sue and Gordon married on June 16, 1957, and they were married for 65 years. During that time, they lived in Camp Lejune, North Carolina, Barstow, California, Cleveland, Ohio, Canoga Park, California, Columbus, Ohio and finally settled in Worthington, Ohio where they raised their 2 children. Survivors include her son G Scott (Denise) Clark, and daughter Karen (Dan Schumacher) Clark, grandchildren, Emily (Aaron) Baugher, Jason (Jennifer) Clark and Kendra Clark, nephews Rich (Lori) Milleson, Greg Milleson, James (Dawn) Milleson, Michael (Andrea) Clark and niece Mary (Jeff) McBride and sisters-in-law Ann Milleson and Arlene Maynard. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ronald Kinsey Milleson, husband Gordon M Clark, brother-in-law George E Clark, nephew Kevin Clark and infant grandson Brian Clark. Sue graduated The Ohio State University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She immediately started teaching and retired from Columbus Public Schools in 1996. She was a lifetime member of Columbus Education Association. After retirement, Sue joined several women’s clubs. She was president of the Worthington Women’s Club from 2002-2003, president of Presbyterian Women United from 2004-2006 and president of University Women’s Club in 2009. Sue was a lifelong Presbyterian and was a member and elder of Worthington Presbyterian Church. In her spare time, she loved to play Bridge with Gordon and several friends. Sue also loved to play the piano and sing. Sue will be deeply missed by her friends and family. She was loyal and had a great sense of humor. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20 at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. Sue’s funeral service and committal will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21 at Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. Immediately following the service there will be a meal in the Hazelton Fellowship Hall of the church. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to a charity of their choice.
