Stephen S. Hupp "Steve" age 74 of Dublin, OH went peacefully on September 9, 2020. at Kobacher House. Steve leaves behind Linda (Arman) Hupp of nearly 25 years; Children, son Stephen S. Hupp II, daughters, Amanda Housler, Amber Hupp. Step-son Chad Ritzer (Lisa Cristoferi); Grandchildren, Stephanie & Skyla Hupp; Raven, AnnaLisa & Scott Housler Jr; Lexus Hupp, Mercedes Blake, Aiden McQuire, Colin McQuire. Survived by his brother, George (Eileen); nephews, Scott Hupp (Teri), Greg Hupp (Kathy) and niece, Rebecca Edwards (Andre). Sister, Marie Hipple, nephew, Patrick Hipple (Sarah): nieces, Elizabeth Thruman (Neal); Martina Rutti (Jeff). Preceded in death by his father George F. Hupp and his mother Lois M. Hupp. Steve graduated from John Glenn High School in New Concord, OH. Attended The College of Wooster where he received his BA and The University of Cincinnati for a Ph.D. He was Naval Communications Officer on the USS Stribling during the Vietnam War. Steve started his 30-year career as a Scientist at Ashland, Inc. of Dublin and eventually becoming Global Director of Research and Development. His inventions, patents and publications led to many awards in recognition of his work and contribution to the chemical industry. Steve was choir director at Indian Run Methodist Church for 15 years. Was a board member of The Dublin Arts Council for 6 years, 2 of which he was president. For the last 10 years, Steve was an active golf member together with his wife at Scioto Reserve Country Club. One of Steve's proudest moments during his golf career was his Hole-in-One at St. John's Golf Club in St. Augustine, FL. on February 8, 2008. Visitation will be Monday, September 21, 2020, at Rutherford Funeral Home, 450 Olentangy Street, Powell, OH 43065. In view of the Covid-19 Virus, visitation will be in alphabetical order with last names beginning with letters, A-H Noon-2pm, I-P 2-4pm, Q-Z 4-6pm. A Celebration of Steve's life will be conducted after the restrictions of the Covid-19 Virus are lifted.
