Stephen J. Kody

Stephen J. Kody, age 59, of Dublin, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 on the 17th Green of Scioto Reserve Golf Club, his favorite hole, where he celebrated his very first eagle a month before. A native of Garfield, New Jersey, Steve was born to the late Stephen and Veronica Kody. He was a graduate of Garfield High School, Class of 1969 and graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ. He later received his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Steve retired from Union Carbide (Dow Chemical) after 35 years of service. After his retirement, he was a Senior Account Manager with Brenntag Specialties, Inc. Steve was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. A former member of Riviera Country Club, he was also a member of Scioto Reserve Golf Club in Powell. Steve is survived by his wife of 24 years, Barbara; his children: Tracy (Paul) Bogdanski, of Berlin, CT; Sean (David) Kody, of Scotch Plains, NJ; Jessica (fiancé, Nick Lessner) Kody, of Nantucket, MA; Alexis (Stephen Kitchen) Kody, of Charleston, SC; his two wonderful grandchildren: Kody and Kayden Bogdanski; his beloved dog Molly; twin brother Barry (Jane) Kody, of Oak Ridge, NJ; sisters: Mary and Jayne of Garfield, NJ and their families; the entire Reid Family; and Steve’s many, many friends who were endeared by his smile and laugh. BRIGID OF KILDARE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7179 Avery Rd., Dublin, OH 43017 with The Reverend Monsignor Joseph M. Hendricks, Celebrant. Burial will be observed by the family at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD.
