Stephen P. Cianca

Stephen P. Cianca, of Dublin, OH died on Sunday, August 10, 2014 after a long battle with cancer at age 60. Steve was the beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Kennedy) and devoted father to Joshua, Laura and Jeffrey. Predeceased by his father, Louis A. Cianca, he is survived by his mother Antoinette “Toni” Cianca, sister Dr. Marie Cianca, brothers Dr. Louis J. (Paula) Cianca, Mark Esq. (Julie) Cianca, all of Rochester, NY and Dr. John Cianca of Houston, TX, mother-in-law Barbara "Bobbie" Kennedy, brother-in-law David (Karen) Kennedy, sisters-in-law Karen (Peter) Frey, Diane (Ken) Lange, Sherry Kennedy, Patty Shapiro, Joan Kennedy, Mary Lou Kennedy and Susan (John) Benevento, all of Cleveland, OH, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mr. Cianca was a graduate of the University of Rochester (BA), Georgetown University (MA), Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary (MA), and the University of Cincinnati College of Law (JD). He had a varied career in publishing and law, and worked for 17 years as Assistant Director for Continuing Legal Education at the Ohio State Bar Association. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 10865 of St. Brigid of Kildare Church in Dublin, having served as Grand Knight for his Council, as well as many other posts. He was active with the Boy Scouts with his two sons for 15 years as an Assistant Scoutmaster and Chaplain with Troop 200. Visitation for family and friends will be held at ST. BRIGID OF KILDARE CHURCH, 7179 Avery Rd., Dublin, OH 43017 on SUNDAY from 5:00-8:00p.m. with Reception of the Body Prayer Vigil from 5:00-5:15p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00a.m. MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 2014 with The Reverend Monsignor Joseph M. Hendricks and The Reverend Vincent W. McKiernan, Con-celebrants. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, OH.
