Rosa Mandriotti De Garcia De Garcia, Rosa 1946 – 2018 Rosa “Mami Rosita” De Garcia, age 71, of Columbus, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2018 surrounded by her family. Born March 12, 1946 in Callao, Peru to the late Julio and Delia (Hurtado) Mandriotti. Rosa and her husband of 52 years came to the United States with minimal belongings to begin their life. Through hard work and perseverance, they opened their own restaurant called Garcia’s International located on North High Street in Columbus; where Rosa served as the chef. Patrons would wait for hours to taste her Peruvian fusion cuisine because of the love she poured into every meal she prepared. Upon her retirement, she found great joy in seeing her family grow and continued to do the things she loved most such as cooking authentic Peruvian meals for anyone who would come to visit. Rosa was a devoted mother and wife; she loved unconditionally and prayed for everyone she knew. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano for friends and family until the very end. Preceded in death by her father, Julio Mandriotti; grandfather, Adolfo Mandriotti Barzotti Rosa De La Cotera; grandmother, Juvenal Hurtado Berta Olsen; and younger brother, Nicolas Mandriotti. Survived by her loving husband, Genaro Garcia Von Lembcke; mother, Delia Huertado-Mandriotti; children, Ignacio “Iggy” (Suzanne), Rosa (Ben) Burnam, Genaro (Hilda), Bice (Bob) Dolciato, Liberty (Andrew) DeBellis, Gabriel, and Olivia (Mark) Brand; siblings, Adolfo, Ana, Julio, Carmen, Francisco; grandchildren, Dante (Malissa), Marquelle (Jacob), Giovanni, Sean, Quinlan, Valentino, Adriana, Marissa, Michael, great-grandchildren, Aston, Madden, Milano, Liliana, Francesco, Theodore, and Leonardo. Friends may call at Rutherford Funeral Home, 2383 N. High St. on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. where her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Interment Union Cemetery. To celebrate her culture, the family welcomes you to join them in experiencing an Indigenous drum ceremony at 6:15 p.m. 6:45 p.m. In Rosa’s honor, feel free to wear pink of any shade or flora design.
