Ronald E. Vidmar

VIDMAR Ronald E. Vidmar age 80, of Delaware, Ohio went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, December 12, 2014. He was born on August 3, 1934 to the late Edward and Angeline (Resnik) in Cleveland, Ohio. After the death of his mother at age 6, he lived with his grandparents on the farm in Pennsylvania. He moved back to the Cleveland area and graduated from Mentor High School in 1952. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio and graduated in 1956 with a B.S. degree in chemistry. While at Ohio Wesleyan he was a member of the Air Force ROTC and upon graduating served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. Ron then worked with IBM and, ultimately, retired from the State of Ohio, Department of Administrative Services in 1999. Ron loved his family deeply and is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, his children Susanne Katherine Vidmar, Mark Edward Vidmar and Anne Kristen (Delmar) Golden; 6 grandchildren, Zachery Lawrence (Ashlee) Cramer, Amanda Katherine Cramer, Scott Edward Cramer, Rachel Elizabeth Vidmar, Rebecca Marie Vidmar and Amanda (Robert) Lord; 4 great-grandchildren, Aidan, Alana, Eva and Emma. He is also survived by 8 “Uncle Gramps” children, April, Andrew, Joshua, Ashlan, Austin, Stephanie, Adam and Alex; and 14 “Great-Uncle Gramps” children. Also surviving are his sisters and brother by marriage, Bonnie (Jim) Worden, Valerie (Dave) Gamble and John (Louise) Huston, as well as loving nieces and nephews; friends and church family. A service of Celebration will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Delaware City Vineyard beginning with receiving friends from 5-6:00 pm, the service at 6:00 pm and a meal and time to be together at 7:00 pm. The church is located at 32 Troy Road, Delaware, Ohio 43015.
