Roger L Leezer

Roger Leezer, beloved husband of Lynn Leezer of 54 years passed peacefully on the morning of April 19, 2024, at the age of 73, following an 8-year battle with lung cancer and COPD. Roger fought courageously, never letting his illness stop him from doing what he loved and taking care of his girls. Roger was born June 21st, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to Mary Evelyn and John Walter Leezer, the fourth son of their seven children: Gary, Donald, Terry, Roger, Kevin, Marilyn, and Cheryl. Roger graduated from Brookhaven High School with an Industrial Arts PTA Award. He then served his country in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973 as an Avionics Maintenance Tech Sergeant based out of Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, Florida as well as serving in Thailand and Vietnam in the 3242 Avionics Maintenance Squadron. Roger was a very proud veteran and always said to “look sharp, dress sharp, be sharp”. Roger loved cars, especially muscle cars. He was a Ford ASE Master Certified Mechanic for 38 years at Krieger Ford. He was also a home mechanic who rebuilt and restored many cars and trucks with family and his best friend Dale “Smitty” Smith. Roger was the esteemed “Mayor” of Cheshire Market where he never met a stranger. He was a cherished friend with an infectious smile, a hug, a wink, and words of wisdom for all. Roger was a loving husband and a father of two daughters he adored and was extremely proud of, Angela Leezer and Tracie Jebour. His pride and joy was his only granddaughter Sabreen “Breeni” Jebour. He loved his girls and his wife Lynn unconditionally. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Walter Leezer, as well as his siblings Donald, Cheryl, Gary, and Terry. Roger was survived by wife Lynn, daughters Angela and Tracie, honorary daughter Cyndi Pullins, granddaughter Sabreen, honorary granddaughter Sydney Wilt, brother Kevin Leezer, sister Marilyn (Kevin) Wilush, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, and friends. There could never be enough time on this earth to spend with him. His courage, compassion, and kindness inspired us all and his little winks and mischievous grins made us smile. He was a surrogate dad, brother, grandpa for many. May he live on in spirit, through all he taught us and our amazing memories. Calling hours will be 5PM to 8PM Wednesday, April 24, 2024. Memorial Services will be 10AM Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Rutherford – Corbin Funeral Home in Worthington, Ohio.
