Robin Mayer

Robin Mayer, age 53 of Worthington, died June 19, 2015 at St Ann’s Hospital. Robin was born in Pt Pleasant W Va on February 4, 1962 to the late Thomas and Mary (Soles) Chick. She was a member of the Hilliard HS Class of ’80 after attending Whetstone. She worked for a legal secretary for several law firms in Columbus. She is survived by her husband Andrew Mayer and her son Alexander R. Mayer; brother Daniel Thomas Chick, sisters Annette Thompson, Beth Williams, and Jill Francis, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a former member of Maple Grove Methodist Church, and loved to go antiquing and raising flowers. Friends may call at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St Worthington on Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, where a funeral service will be held on Friday June 26, 2015 at 10:00 am. Robin had an unconditional love for her family and friends, there is no question about that. She was a legal secretary for 17 years, but not only did she do that she was passionate about spreading her kindness with anyone she crossed paths with. She was the type of woman who gave you the shirt off of her back or her last penny just to see you smile. Another fact about my mom is that she hated bugs, and even with her fear of them she would try to take them outside instead of hurting them. This is just a minor example to express the heart of gold my mother had. She was an angel that was too good for this world. She was at one point in time given 3 years but made it to 10. She was a survivor and a fighter, the strongest woman that I am honored to call my mother. Her presence here on earth was a gift for everyone she met. She made life so much better that this world will be less without her. The world lost one of the kindest, gentle, genuine souls you could imagine. Even though she may not be physically here with us anymore, she lives on in everyone’s lives that she touched. Her love and ability to brighten lives is still here with everyone she encountered.
