Roberta Gay Edgerton

On Monday October 31st Roberta “Bobbie” Gay Edgerton a beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away. She was seventy-eight. Born to Marjorie and Wilbur Saeger, Bobbie graduated from Louisville High School, Aultman Hospital School of Nursing, and California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science in nursing. Bobbie worked as a registered nurse at Barberton Hospital, Guernsey Memorial Hospital, Somerset Hospital and retired from Riverside Methodist Hospital. Through her employment journey she achieved the rank of Critical Care Registered Nurse. While she retired from full time critical care nursing she found her need to help people continue to grow through helping children at the Franklin County Children Services organization. Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband Bill; her father Wilbur Saeger, her mother Marjorie Dunlavy, and stepfather Howard Dunlavy. She is survived by her son Doug, wife Lisa and her grand-daughters Madelyn and Grace. Her brothers Jim (Kathy) and Norm (Cher) Saeger as well as her special sister group Ada, Nova and JoAnn as well as many loving nieces and nephews. In Bobbie’s free time, she loved traveling across the united states and abroad, spending time with friends and family and especially quality time with her granddaughters. She loved her granddaughters like it was her job – always attending events for immediate and extended family members. She often volunteered for many programs through the church, and was a Stephens Ministry leader. She had a passion for history and being outdoors, and camping as often as possible. She loved to share her life experiences with others. All the while, continuing to nurture and be a nurse as a badge of honor that continued up until her time to rest came. Friends can call at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home 515 High Street Worthington, Ohio 43085 on Friday November 4th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday November 5th at Northwest United Methodist Church by Pastor Mebane McMahon. The church will be open at 10 a.m. for visitation prior to service. She will be at rest at Union Cemetery, contributions may be made to Northwest United Methodist Church in her memory.
