Robert "Bob" Ruck

Robert “Bob” Ruck, 73, of Columbus, silently and quickly left this Earth and entered into eternal rest on March 8th, 2016. Bob was born in St. Marys, Ohio on May 27th, 1942. Bob was a kind and loving person. He attended The Ohio State University and was an avid Buckeye sports fan. Bob was a lifelong OSU season ticket holder spending Saturday afternoons at The Shoe rooting on his Buckeyes. A Veteran of the US Air Force, Bob spent his professional career as a computer programmer for 27 years with the Columbia Gas Company. Upon retirement, He joined the event staff as an usher at the Schottenstien Center for 17+ years. Bob enjoyed his monthly poker game with his buddies, being a member of the Bethel International United Methodist Church, casino vacations with family and spending time with his Schott friends.Preceded in death by father Lee Ruck and mother Madella (Kuck) Ruck of St. Marys, OH. Survived by his wife LeeAnn, sons Christopher (Jennifer) Kowalke of Hilton Head, SC and C.J. (Diane) Kowalke of Upper Arlington, OH; stepson Charles Anderson of Columbus, OH and step-daughter Mary Anderson of Pataskala, OH. Grandchildren are Corey, Trey, Spencer, Clayton, Caroline, and Charlie Kowalke and Carey Newman. Bob also leaves behind one sister Luanne (Gary) Kuck of New Knoxville, OH; special niece Lisa (Bob) Jaynes and daughters Anna and Kayla of New Knoxville, OH and special nephew Kevin (Tina) Wibbeler and son Thomas and daughters Maggie and Emily , and great-niece Lucy of Zanesfield, OH.; special cousin Fritz (Anne) Kuck and son Andrew of Westlake Village, CA. Bob truly enjoyed his Poker friends, his Schott Friends and his Columbia Gas friends - special mention Kent LeGrow, Kevin Synder, Gary Lamont, and Doug Amtsberg. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14th at 11 a.m. at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME 515 High Street in Worthington. Calling will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service.
