Robert Eugene Rommel

Robert E. Rommel affectionately known as “Bob” & “Mouse” was 55 years old. He was born February 10th 1962 at St. Albans Military Hospital in St. Albans, Queens, NY. He unexpectedly passed away December 6th 2017 at OSU Medical Center. He resided with his wife of 25 years in Howard, Ohio. “Bob,” “Mouse,” Rommel proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. After his service, he went on to MIT and graduated with a Bachelors in Computer Sciences along with other degrees. He further attained his A.S.E. Master Tech Certification which he used as a heavy line technician. He serviced all makes of models of vehicles however, Chrysler and Mopar were his favorite. He was a heavy line tech for 30 years and was best known in our community for his 5 years at FireStone Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Bob was preceded in death by his paternal Grandmother Dorothy Tutor (1994), his father Eugene W. Rommel (2006) and Granddaughters Suresa & Faith Crim (2009) and Mia Crim (2010). Robert is survived by his Mother Geraldine (Gerry) V. Rommel of Alb, NM; his wife of 25 years Susan (Hambleton) Rommel Howard, Ohio; 2 Sisters, Laura M. (Rommel) Johnny Parsons of Pataskala, Pamela Rommel Alb.N.M ; 3 children with Susan: Ashley (Rommel) (Young), Matthew Buck of Guysville Ohio, Reva (Rommel) Crim of Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Nikko A. Rommel, Kara (Stachler) Rommel of Zainsville; and 2 adult children from a previous marriage. Bob was so very proud of his grandchildren: Hayden Blanton, Nevaeh A. Rommel, Tayen, and Aurora Crim all of Mt. Vernon Ohio; Treven Young of Guysville, OH; Nikko (Boogie); Lincoln Rommel of Zanesville, Ohio. Bob was blessed with Nieces & Nephews: Ashley (Maston) Frank Angle of Illinois; Anthony Maston; Alexis (Maston); Felix Jefferson of Pataskala; Sabrina Parsons, Samantha Parsons, Sierra Parsons, all of Pataskala; and Via Casidine of Alb, NM. Bob also loved his Great Nieces & Nephews: Rose & Lillian Maston; Allison Jefferson of Pataskala; and Tristan Angle of Illinois. Bob was a member of Fredricktown SDA Church, he was a life member of the Mt. Vernon Amvets post 95, he was also an officer and passed member of the Moose and F.O.E. Memorial services planned at a later date.
