Nathan K. Voorhis

Nathan Karl Voorhis, 50 of Powell OH, formerly of New Martinsville WV, went to be with the Lord on November 4th surrounded by family at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH. Surviving are his wife of 25 years Vonnie Voorhis (Haught), his son Derek Voorhis and stepchildren Erica and Tony Berger. He is also survived by his parents Norman and Vicki Voorhis (Arman), brother Gary Voorhis and niece and nephew Haley and Isaac, mother-in-law Nina Haught; amongst many other aunts, uncles, cousins and family members. Nathan graduated West Liberty University with a BA in Mathematics and Education and furthered his degree at West Virginia University receiving an MS in Applied Mathematics. He became a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) and former president of Buckeye Actuarial Continuing Education (BACE). Most recently he was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer at Ameritrust Group, Inc. A lover of the outdoors, Nathan was often found in the woods spending time and caring for his land in Ohio. An avid running partner with his wife, he successfully completed two half-marathons and numerous 5Ks. Passionate about animals, he was inspired to rescue and save numerous Dobermans as well as his favorite Pit bull Dottie. Forever the family man, Nathan was always up for an adventure with his loved ones to see new places. Although a very private man, Nathan was a very dependable and loyal person with a strong and passionate work ethic. A tribute service to celebrate Nathan’s life will be held at the Liberty Presbyterian Church on Saturday November 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. 7080 Olentangy River Rd.
