Michael Andrew Winters

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of your-selves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9. Michael Andrew Winters, 27, of Hilliard, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, September 6, 2014, due to complications after having a seizure. Michael was born September 11, 1986. Michael grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While attending Oral Roberts University he met the love of his life, his wife, Valerie Winters. They were blessed to share three and a half years of marriage together before his unexpected death. Michael enjoyed playing guitar, soccer, hiking, and watching football, especially the Broncos and Oklahoma State. He enjoyed working with special needs children in Utah. One of Michael’s favorite adventures was a hunting trip to Alaska with his Dad and brothers. Growing up his sister Ally was always by his side. He loved the gumbo his Mom loved to make for him. He loved traveling to national parks and walking with Valerie and his beloved little dog, Cookie. Since moving to Ohio, Graeter’s ice cream became a favorite treat. He enjoyed listening to Dave Matthews and attended at least 10 of his concerts. Michael loved attending Columbus Bible Church and grew in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, and he cherished the friendships that he made there. Michael was a kind and gentle man loved by all that knew him, and he will be dearly missed. Michael leaves to cherish his memory his wife Valerie, father Tom (Michele) Winters, mother Marci Jubelirer, sister Allison Winters, brothers Scott and Mason Winters, paternal grandmother Evelyn Winters, father and mother-in-law Kevin and Kathy Bolyard, sister- in- law Jessica (Ryan) Aldin, brothers-in-law Jason and Andy (Leah) Bolyard. Uncle Michael will especially be missed by his nieces and nephews: Kaylie, Sadie, Cole, Tinley, Chase, and Ty. Michael was preceded in death by his brother Ryan Winters, maternal grandparents Sonnie and Nelwyn Frickie, and paternal grandfather, George Winters, and he is now with them in Heaven. Visitations will be Friday, September 12th from 5-8pm; The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 10 am at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME at 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, Ohio officiated by David Reid.
