Maxine Andreas

Maxine Andreas, age 89, of Powell, OH passed away Monday, December 15, 2015. Born in Mt. Vernon, OH, Maxine was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, Class of 1943. She later graduated from Asbury College, Wilmore, KY, and attained her B.A. degree in 1946. She returned to Mt. Vernon where she met her future husband, Charles Andreas, and they were married in 1949. They moved to Zanesville, OH and then to Charleston, WV where they lived from 1951-1973. Later, they moved to Upper Arlington, OH and lived there from 1973-2002 and then retired to Powell. A medical technologist for over 40 years, Maxine retired from Diagnostic Laboratories. Maxine's family was a founding family of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon. She and her husband were founding members of Village Chapel Presbyterian Church in Charleston where she was Director of Christian Education and sang in the choir. A Red Hat Lady, Maxine loved to shop and bowl. She was preceded in death by her brother Jack Taylor. Maxine is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charles Andreas; her sons and daughters-in-law: Rick and Sue Andreas of Powell and Tom (Patti) Andreas of Blacklick, OH; her grandchildren: Kaiti Andreas of Perrysburg, OH, Chris Andreas of Columbus, OH, Jason Andreas of Columbus, Stephen (Lindsay) Bustell of Chicago, IL and Katie (Kyle) Binns of Durham, NC; and her many friends. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00p.m. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2014 at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, OH 43065 (614)-792-1471 where the Funeral Service will be held during the visitation on Wednesday beginning at 6:30pm. Reverend Sandy Huber will officiate. (The funeral home is located on W. Olentangy St./Powell Rd./SR 750 1/4 mile east of Sawmill Parkway.) Graveside Burial services will be held at approximately 1:30p.m. Thursday at Moundview Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, OH.
