Marilyn Miller

Marilyn Miller, age 90, passed away on Sunday July 20, 2025, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Wayne, daughters and son-in-law Gwendellyn Miller and Ruth (Don) Mauk; grandchildren Geena Marie Miller (Scott) and Daniel James Mauk (Jess), sister Jeanne Sheppard, special nephew Jack Sheppard, brothers and sister-in-law Jim and Tom (Maureen) Berkovich. Marilyn and Wayne have been residents of Friendship Village of Dublin since 2022. Marilyn is preceded in death by her son Eric, nephew Jimmy Sheppard, her parents Jim and Margaret Berkovich, her mother and father-in-law Bernice and Fred Miller, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Eleanor and Olaf Olausen, and long-time friends Dorothy Grodhaus, Meredith Berk, and Linda Paxton. Marilyn graduated from High School in in West Middlesex, PA, and Business College at New Wilmington, PA. She retired as an Executive Secretary from Lucent Technologies in Dublin, Ohio. She was a member of the Highlands Presbyterian Church, served six years as a Deacon, attended Women’s Bible Study, knitted with Knit One Pray Two group, sang in the choir, was the resident in College Pray Connection Coordinator, served on Helping Hands Committee and tutored children at Highland Community School. She knitted stocking hats and children’s hats for the South Side Church and the Charitable Pharmacy. Other passions included knitting preemie hats and baby hats for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, cake decorating for family and friends. She enjoyed the challenge of baking wedding cakes and panoramic Easter Eggs. She was an avid fan of OSU Football and loved music. She also sang in the Friendship Village Choir. At Colony Cats, she sewed blankets for all the adopted cats. She joined the Riverside Sewing Guild Volunteers and enjoyed sewing neck pillows, walker bags, and bereavement envelopes, all made of cloth and decorated for the families of those patients that had passed. Special thanks to her friend Karen Hansen, and many other friends. Most enjoyable of all was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She adored babies, all children and animals. Knitting and crocheting and music were a big part of her life. Friends may call on Monday July 28, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street in Worthington, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am. A Graveside Service will be held later at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the charity of one’s choice in her memory.
