L. Keith Beachler

Loren Keith Beachler, age 95, journeyed home peacefully with family by his side on January 27, 2025. He was born at home on Oct. 20, 1929 in Granger, now Medina, OH, the son of Alda Marie (Stauffer) and Orbin Keith Beachler. Growing up on the family farm on Beachler Road, he loved the land and beauty of nature becoming an Eagle Scout Order of the Arrow at the early age of 15. After graduating from Granger High School, he served two years in the US Air Force before graduating from The College of Wooster with a BA in Economics. Married the love of his life, Marilou,(Ackerman) embarking on a sales and marketing career with Jeffrey Mfg. in Columbus, OH. Transferred to San Francisco, CA, he became Regional Mgr. of eleven western states before becoming VP Marketing of Jeffrey Canada, Montreal, Quebec. Served as VP Marketing Webster Mfg. in Tiffin, OH before becoming owner of Engineered Products & Equipment where he retired at age 72 in Worthington, OH. Member of Worthington Presbyterian Church where he served on the Columbarium board. With Marilou, took a 6,000 mile road trip touring the West and mountains he loved. They traveled often to Mexico and Europe spending winters in Naples, FL. A devoted family man, he so loved and admired his two sons and six grandchildren watching them grow up, excel in sports and all graduate from college. An avid reader and history buff, his weekly trips to the library satisfied his ever inquisitive mind. Friends and family enjoyed his sense of humor; he enjoyed time in the kitchen perfecting his beef vegetable soup and barbecue ribs. Looking forward to his five o’clock martini with anchovy stuffed olives, he would often say, “I’m a man of simple taste” and was most comfort-able in his favorite chair with a good book. Predeceased by sister, Frances, and brother, Dwight. Survived by his wife of 69 years, Marilou, sister Darlene (Debbie) Eller, Hanford, CA, two sons Marc (Marcy) Elgin, IL, Bob (Karen) Santa Cruz, CA, six grandchildren: Justin (Ann Mekis) Santa Cruz, CA, Kim (Obaid) Haleem, Bowlingbrook, IL, Tyler (Lauren) Elgin, IL, Ryan (Alyssa) Pinegree Grove, IL, Josh, Chicago, IL, Emily (Brian) Wynalda. Eight great grandchildren: Vivian, Chloe, Stella, Lexi, Tilly Mae, Anika Haleem, Eleanor and Andrew Wynalda, nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life will be held Sat., April 5, 11:00 am Worthington Presbyterian Church. The family wishes to thank the entire staff on 8th floor silver Riverside Hospital for their devoted care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OhioHealth Compassus Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
