Linda Crawford-Cloud

Linda Crawford-Cloud of Worthington, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of August 2nd, 2017. Linda is survived by her loving husband Michael Hock, three sons Chris Cloud (Jenny Cloud), Ben Hock (Barbara Sullivan), and Andy Hock (Teresa Segura), five grandchildren Colin, Camden and Colson Cloud and Elle and Phoebe Hock, and her sister Diana Woodward. Linda was born March 29th, 1943 to parents Bertha and Herbert Crawford in Dayton, Ohio. She was a graduate of Fairborn High School, Heidelberg College (BA), The Ohio State University (MA, Journalism), and Capital University Law School (JD). An accomplished leader, Linda built caring relationships with the people that she worked with and the people she loved. Her range was broad. She worked with the City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department for 12 years, served as Deputy Director of Columbus Human Services Department, directed the Central Ohio Regional AIDS Services planning project for the Columbus Department of Health, and served the Columbus Community Services Department in workforce development for 13 years. Earlier career contributions include Executive Director of the Juvenile Probation Council, which later merged to become Directions for Youth and Families. Linda’s career in community service culminated in her work with the Board of the Worthington Resource Pantry. Linda’s dedication to family and her adventurous spirit were unique. Linda focused on, loved, and was loved in return by her children--men and women alike--and her grandchildren. Her passion for adventure, people and places manifested in numerous treks across the country and back with her husband Mike and dog Wally, visiting pathways and places in the beautifully curious style of “Mr. and Mrs. Fox.” We will carry her spirit with us, always. Family and friends will gather in a celebration of Linda’s life at the family home 1060 Morning Street in Worthington, Ohio 43085 this Saturday, August 12th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers or material gifts, consider making a donation to the Worthington Resource Pantry in Linda’s name or a charity of your choice.
