Lilly Joann (King) Bogart

Lilly Joann (King) Bogart, 93 years old went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2025. She was a member of Linworth United Methodist Church. She was born in Charleston West Virginia on August 9, 1932 to Ersil Legg and Sherman Warner. She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Gary Bogart who matched her boundless energy and love of travel. Her former deceased husband was Isaac King with whom she shared 50 years of marriage and had two sons: Gerald (Margaret) King and Richard (Rema) King. She has 5 grandchildren: Adam (Josephine) King, Evan (Jody) King. Adrienne (Mark) Goens, Jeffrey (Jennifer) King and Douglas King (deceased). Six great-great grandchildren: Jordan King, Jacob King, Emily King, Casey Bramel, Cora Standiford, and Wade Goens. And 4 great-great-great grandchildren: Ethan, Cove, Marianna, and Rhett. Her second family: stepchildren Amy (Ken) Shenefield), Bruce (Vicky) Bogart, Craig (Mindy) Bogart, and Todd (Liza) Bogart. Her living sisters are Judy Noffsinger and Kathy (Mike) Tucker of Buffalo, West Virginia. Her deceased siblings: Juanita, Romie, Charles, and Tommy. She is also survived by her former brother-in-law Darrel (Reba) King and many nieces and nephews of the Warner and King families. Special thanks to her niece, Nancy Smith who visited her frequently at the Memory Care facility and brought her much joy. Joann was retired from Western Electric with 25 years of service. While working she enjoyed membership in several organizations: member of the Eastern Star Corinthian Chapter #393, The Social Order of Beauceant #79 (Masonic Lodge), Ladies Oriental Shrine Thea Court #5, Women of the Moose Whitehall Chapter #865, and Telephone Pioneers of America. In her second marriage to Gary, they enjoyed many adventurous years of traveling. Prior to her marriage to Gary, she visited/traveled through all 50 states. Gary introduced her to the world of international travel by trips to 20 countries. Giving back was important to her. She volunteered with several organizations: Riverside Methodist Hospital, Special Olympics, Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. Yearly she and Gary assisted the students from The Ohio School for the Blind to enjoy the annual Shrine Circus sponsored by the Telephone Pioneers. The family wants to give special thanks to the Dublin Retirement Village Memory Care facility where she stayed for the last year and nine months. And finally many thanks to Capital City Hospice who took special care of her in her final days. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
