Lee R. Headlee

Lee Roy Headlee, long-time resident of Dublin, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the age of 87. He was the fifth of 14 children born to the late Earl P. and Bertha M. (Leppert) Headlee. Lee was preceded in death by his brothers Harold, John, Melvin, David, William and Roger, his sister Irma Jean Extenkamper, brothers-in-law David Scott and Jack Extenkamper, sisters-in-law Wilma, Catherine and Betty Headlee and Betty Rose. Lee will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was a 1947 graduate of Dublin High School and of The Ohio State University earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Lee served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was the owner of Lee R. Headlee Public Accounting Firm in Dublin. Lee was a member of the Dublin Community Church, Dublin Kiwanis Club, a past member of the Dublin City Schools Board of Education and the Columbus Sheep Breeders Association. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara (Rose) Headlee, daughters Connie (Henry) Montgomery and Carol (Rob) Wallace; grandchildren: Matt (Carron) Montgomery, Brandon (Carrie) Wallace, Maggie (Ed) Reynolds, Mallory Montgomery and Kristen (Lee) Robertson; great-grandchildren: Max and Almie Montgomery and Ella Wallace; brothers Richard (Arlene), Charles (Margie), Wayne (Shelby) and Jim (Claudette) Headlee and sisters Eula (Jack) Price and Sharon (John) Shoemaker; brothers-in-law Clayton and Don (Robin) Rose and sisters-in-law Carol Scott, Norma Headlee and Diane Headlee. He also has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 1:00-3:00p.m and 6:00-8:00p.m. FRIDAY at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, OH 43065 (614)-792-1471. (The funeral home is located on W. Olentangy St./Powell Rd./SR 750 ¼ mile east of Sawmill parkway.) The funeral service will be held 11:00a.m. SATURDAY, MARCH 5, 2016 at DUBLIN COMMUNITY CHURCH, 81 West Bridge Street, Dublin, OH 43017 with The Reverend Robert Tussing, officiating. Burial will follow at Dublin Cemetery.
