Lana K. Powers

Lana Karen (Fogt) Powers, age 67, of Dublin, passed away peacefully at Riverside Methodist Hospital on Wednesday, February 16, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents Russell S. and Ruth M. Fogt and daughter Briane Elizabeth (Powers) Vaas. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Thomas W. Powers; children Thomas Patrick, Andrew (Monica), and Skye (Robert Kaminski); granddaughters Reilly Bri Kaminski and Victoria Ryan Powers; brother Andrew Fogt, and sisters Beverly Focht, Sue Snow, and Paula Stein; and many nieces and nephews. Lana is a graduate of Bellefontaine High School (Class of 1961) and The Ohio State University (Class of 1966). Lana is a retired school teacher with 8 years teaching elementary school and 10 years teaching the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program at Marysville High School. She was a former President of the Ohio National Guard Officers’ Wives Club, a prior Dublin TWIG Quilter, and a devoted Girl Scout Leader and international scouter for 25 years. Lana enjoyed mentoring her students, scouts, and other young learners; she did not hesitate to volunteer her time and resources in this endeavor. Lana enjoyed traveling and experiencing the wonders of nature. She especially relished celebrating her family and friends. Family and friends will be welcomed Monday, February 21, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy Street (Powell Road / St. Rt. 750/1/4 mile east of Sawmill Pkwy), Powell, Ohio 43065. Celebration of Life services will be held TUESDAY, February 22, 2011 at 10 am at the Liberty Presbyterian Church ~ The Barn Sanctuary, 7080 Olentangy River Road, Delaware, OH 43015 with Rev.
