Keith Best

Keith Alan Best, born on December 16, 1964 formerly an Upper Sandusky, Ohio resident went to join his parents Whitney and Barbara (Riedlinger) Best in Heaven. He passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Sunday, June 22, 2014. He is survived by his beloved wife Victoria Lynn (Althouse) Best, their loving sons Richard Tyler and Ryan James Best, as well as their beautiful daughter Kathryn Elizabeth Best. The family’s dog Izzy will miss Keith dearly as well. Richard and Pat Althouse are Keith’s in-laws and the parents of Victoria Best. Keith’s grandparents have also passed and were Linus and Bernice Riedlinger and Virgil and Idella Best, all of Upper Sandusky. He leaves behind two brothers and a sister and their spouses, Randy and (Jennifer) Best, Brian and Valerie (Best) Tivin, and Cory and (Christel) Best as well as two sister-in-laws and their spouses Herb and Anita (Althouse) Berger, Steve and Amy (Althouse) Singer. Keith will also be missed by his six nephews, Dane Best son of Randy Best, Jacob, Adam and Derek (deceased) Tivin sons of Brian and Valerie Tivin, Mitchell Berger son of Herb and Anita Berger, Andrew and Collin Singer sons of Steve and Amy Singer, and a niece Lindsay Best daughter of Cory and Christel Best. Keith was a devoted and loving husband and father. He was a serious, but fun and adventurous brother, friend, and brother-in-law. Keith and Victoria were married on Saturday, September 30th 1989 in Upper Sandusky at the Trinity United Church of Christ. This year would have been there 25th wedding anniversary. Keith was a dedicated and loyal employee of Allstate Insurance as a Personal Financial Representative for several years while living in Powell. In his free time Keith enjoyed, golfing and spending endless hours at his children’s sporting events and in most cases helping to coach the teams which his children participated. Keith was also a partner in the ownership of two car washes in the Powell and Westerville areas. Keith was a 1983 graduate of the Upper Sandusky High School and a star player on the Upper Sandusky Rams football, basketball, and baseball teams. In 2009, Keith was inducted into the Upper Sandusky Athletic Hall of Fame. Keith also played varsity football for the Bowling Green Falcons. In 1987, Keith graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green. He then received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Keith was a previous member of the Powell Sertoma and a current member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks organization. The family is a member of the Powell United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends 1-3 and 6-9 p.m. THURSDAY at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 W. Olentangy St. (Powell Rd./St. Rt. 750/1/4 mile east of Sawmill Pkwy) Powell, OH 43065 (614) 792-1471. Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. FRIDAY, JUNE 27, 2014 at the POWELL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 825 E. Olentangy St., Powell, OH 43065 with Reverend Larry Brown officiating. A time of fellowship will be held at the church immediately after the funeral service. Burial will follow at Cheshire Cemetery, Delaware, OH.
