Kay A. Castignola

Kay A. Castignola, age 56, of Powell, OH, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Born in Dayton, OH to Don and Carolyn Ditzel, she grew up in Kettering, OH where she graduated from Fairmont West High School, Class of 1976. Kay went to The Ohio State University where she obtained a BA, Journalism degree and met her loving husband of 35 years, Greg Castignola. Kay was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Our “tailgate queen” was famous for her lavish spreads at Buckeye tailgate parties. She was a huge sports fan and proudly wore her gold pants necklace during the entire Buckeye football season. Kay loved to entertain her friends and family and her beautiful smile would light up the whole room. Kay is preceded in death by her parents Don and Carolyn. Kay is survived by her husband Greg Castignola and her son Dave; her sister Krista (Jack) Miller of Spring Valley, OH; her brother David (Jill) Ditzel of Lakeside Park, KY; niece Reagan Ditzel and nephew Adam Ditzel; her mother-in-law Doris Castignola of Trenton, MI; her brothers-in-law: John of Trenton, MI, Steve (Leslie) of Trenton, MI and David (Jeanette) of Boston, MA; her sister-in-law Sue (Paul) Cutler of Boynton Beach, FL; nephews Mike and Bo Castignola; nieces: Dori Castignola, Jenny and Kate Burkhardt; and her many friends who will dearly miss her.
