Judy Ruhl

Judy Ruhl, age 76, of Delaware, OH, died peacefully in her home on Monday, September 3, 2012 after an 11 month battle with brain cancer. She is survived by her loving family, Dick Ruhl, Sue and Chip Collier and their children, Lydia and Matthew, Dee Dee and Tom Hopson and their daughters, Maggie and Molly, Jody Ruhl and her son, Alex Docie and of course, her faithful dog, Mr. Andy. Judy's battle with brain cancer brought many wonderful people into her life including special friends from The OSU Medical Center, The James Cancer Hospital, Comfort Keepers, Liberty Presbyterian Church and HomeReach Hospice. Judy's constant companion at home was her devoted care-giver and forever friend, Sandra Backus. We are forever grateful for Sandra, her husband, Keith, and their entire family. Judy was loved by so many including her neighbors from Wingate Farms (Delaware, OH) and Hammock Beach (Palm Coast, FL). Judy loved travelling to the beach, collecting sea glass and sea shells, shopping with her daughters and granddaughters, playing with and walking her dog, reading, going out with friends, and most of all her family. Judy was a member of Liberty Presbyterian Church, a frequent blood donor and supporter of the American Red Cross and a proud supporter of Village Academy Schools (Go Griffins!). A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Liberty Presbyterian Church, 7080 Olentangy River Road, (corner of Home and Olentangy River Rds., Delaware, OH 43015). Reverend Rebecca Hart officiating. The family will receive friends after the Memorial Service at a reception in the lower level. The family requests that friends wear casual clothes in bright, happy colors to the Memorial Service in Judy's honor.
