Joseph K. Caron

Joseph K. Caron passed away March 4, 2016 at the age of 84. He rests today in a peaceful place after living a full and wonderful life. Joe was born in Lima, Ohio in April, 1931. His father died at a very young age. His mother, Evelyn, raised her son alone, forging a deep lifelong bond between them. Joe was inspired by his mother’s determination, creating a foundation for success in life. He was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School, Class of 1949. Joe joined the Navy in 1953 and was stationed in Florida. He was a proud American throughout his life. He met and married his wife of 59 years, Susan, in June, 1955. Susan managed their home while Joe followed his career at locations including Boston, MA, Atlanta, GA and Canton, OH. Joe was incredibly proud of his daughters and their families: Elizabeth Caron of Rockport, MA, Jody Caron-Buchanan of Dublin, OH and Cari (Joseph) Roman of Marietta, GA. He loved his wonderful grandchildren: Collin Joseph Caron Buchanan, Brooke Ann Caron Buchanan, Ariel, Charlotte and Grant Roman. He was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn Caron. Joe’s work was his life and passion and he proudly served Diebold Corporation for over 40 years. His ability to solve difficult business challenges, his sharp wit and sense of humor led him to great career success. That success allowed him to travel the country, making new friends and creating memories at each stop. Susan and Joe made their home in Canton, OH and were members of Brookside Country Club where the couple enjoyed many memorable years with their large group of friends. In 2005, the couple moved to Powell, OH where they could spend their retirement years enjoying family, golf and making wonderful new friendships with neighbors. Joe had many loves in his life, particularly family, warm beaches, good friends, his work, cars, golf and family dogs he could take for walks. He will be sadly missed, but joyously celebrated by his family and many friends. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00p.m. MONDAY at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, OH 43065 (614)-792-1471 where a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00a.m. TUESDAY, MARCH 8, 2016.
