John Roman "Jack" Weltin

John “Jack” Roman Weltin, 77, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday April 9, 2008. Born in Fremont, Ohio on July 13, 1930, John graduated from Bowling Green High School and attended The Ohio State University and Xavier University. John served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. John also was an Eagle Scout. With years in the healthcare field as a Pharmaceutical Drug Rep, a Nursing Home Administrator and finally as a Licensed Practical Nurse, John retired on November 1, 2007. John loved God first, family second and sailing/kayaking as often as he could. He is survived by his wife, Karin; children: Mark (Annette), Marianne (Charles) Randolph, Michael, Marcia (Ed) Rodriguez, Kara (Gerald) Hardman, and Justin; sister, Paula Barbour; grandchildren: Richard (Jodi), James, Cassandra (Rick) Walter, Jennifer (Drew) Fuller, Laura (Travis) Ramos, Benjamin Randolph, Dillon Rodriguez, Hannah Hardman, Jenna Hardman and Alyssa Hardman; great-grandchildren: Taylor Weltin, Kennedi Weltin, Nathan Weltin, Veronica Walter and Savannah Walter; nephews: Anthony Barbour and Brian (Amy) Barbour; aunt, Madge Hottinger; Additional Family: Daniel and Marylou Lee, Dr. Charles (Sharon) Wilson and Daniel (Poppy) Lee, Jennifer (Eric) Wobser, Danielle Wilson, Michelle Wilson, Lauren Lee, Christopher Wilson, Ethan Lee, Sophie Lee, Samuel Lee, Paul Marcum and many friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Beatrice Weltin, an infant sister and brother, and brother-in-law Kenneth Barbour. A Memorial Celebration of John’s life will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday April 26, 2008 at Northwest Bible Church, 6639 Scioto-Darby Road, Hilliard, Ohio 43026 with Pastor Ken Harrell, officiating. John will be laid to rest with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, a trust has been established by close friends for Justin Andrew Weltin c/o any National City Bank.
