In Loving Memory of Joann Riley Joann Riley was born on April 30th, 1945, in Coal Grove, Ohio. Joann was preceded in death by Betty Riley(mother), Harry Coulson, Mary Jo Coulson, Joe Coulson and Anita Pitt(Joann’s forever family). Joann embarked on a remarkable journey through life that touched the hearts of those she encountered. Her story is one of resilience, love, and enduring connections. In her early years, Joann found herself under the compassionate care of Nurse Mary Jo Coulson. This nurturing relationship blossomed into a lifelong bond that would define much of Joann's life. In the 1970’s, Mary Jo and Harry Coulson opened their home as a group home, where Joann found not just shelter but also a loving family. For nearly four decades, she considered The Coulson’s, 178 E Frambes Ave, her home; a place filled with warmth and belonging. On a beautiful September day in 2010, Mary Jo Coulson passed away at the age of ninety. That same day, Joanns next chapter began as she joined the Liptak Family. Brigita Liptak, Mary Jo Coulson's granddaughter, became her devoted caretaker, providing unwavering support and love. For nine cherished years, Joann was a cornerstone of the Liptak family, contributing her unique light and love to their lives. Her presence brought joy, laughter, and a deep sense of togetherness. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, from spending quality time with her newfound family to indulging in Word Find Puzzles and Soap Operas. On October 1st, 2023, Joann peacefully passed away at the beautiful Norwich Springs Health Center located in Hilliard Ohio, alongside Capital City Hospice Care. Her departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, but her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and warmth. Joann's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her Cousin’s Jane Ann Riley, Sandy Riley, and the Liptak family, whose lives she touched so profoundly. Joann loved deeply, and her love will remain etched in our hearts. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and resilience will endure, a testament to the enduring power of human connection. Visitation will be 1-2pm on Sunday, October 8th at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home in Worthington, Ohio. The family suggests that donations be made to Capital City Hospice care in honor of Joann.
